Work (crane operation and driving) location:
The majority of work will be in British Columbia.
A minority of work will be Saskatchewan, Yukon, and NWT.
Will sometimes need to enter the United States.

Hours: 60 hours per week, per federal law. Overtime is paid after 60 hours.

Wage: $38.00 /hour
The annual salary increase is $0.50 per year of service
Performance-based bonus available for safety possible after probation and then reviewed every three months. Calculated mileage for no complaints, incidents, or violations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Secondary school completion.
Mobile crane operator certification for cranes up to eight tonnes.
Truck driver experience
Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) certificate
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) Awareness Certificate
First Aid Certificate

Background & Purpose of the Job

We are looking for a General Labor employee at our Ice Cream Manufacturing factory in Simcoe, Ontario. Our factory produces brand names such as Breyers, Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum, Klondike, and Popsicle!!

The general objective of the General Labor position is to stage and supply packaging and dry good ingredients to the production floor to ensure that production requirements are met.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do:

Reports to their scheduled work center at the scheduled shift start time.
Ensures the safe working, good housekeeping, and good manufacturing practices are observed, in meeting daily production and quality expectations.
Ensures that the proper quantity of materials and/or ingredients are brought down from the supply hall to the production floor to meet daily production requirements.
Reports safety hazards or environmental risks immediately to the supervisor.
Perform the job duties in a manner that is safe for yourself and others around you, including compliance with safety and ergonomic practices.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need To Succeed:

Must be flexible and able to work all shifts to accommodate factory schedules and training. Different shifts are as follows: 1) 8-hour rotational weekday shifts; 2) weekend shifts comprising Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 12-hour shifts; 3) 12-hour Continental straight shifts (days or nights)
Ability to learn all functions of assigned production lines in a quick fashion, as dictated by the production rate of the specific line.
Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
Previous experience in a production environment and/or food production or handling is preferred.
Education – High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
