What is dimensional weight?

Dimensional weight (dim weight) is a pricing method used by parcel carriers. Dim weight = (length x width x height) / divisor. FedEx and UPS use 139 for domestic US packages. If dim weight exceeds actual weight, you are billed on dim weight.

What is the difference between FCL and LCL?

FCL (Full Container Load) means you book an entire container - typically 20ft (33 CBM) or 40ft (67 CBM). LCL (Less than Container Load) means your cargo shares space with others and you pay per CBM. FCL is cheaper per CBM above roughly 15 CBM.

How is air freight chargeable weight calculated?

Air freight chargeable weight = the greater of actual gross weight or volumetric weight. Volumetric weight = (L x W x H in cm) / 6,000. If your box is light but large, volumetric weight will be higher and determines the charge.
